The Design District is known for its fantastic galleries and up-and-coming entertainment options and now it’s making a BIG statement when it comes to food. Here’s three options to check out while you’re out and about in the district this summer and fall.
Sassetta: For pizza and pasta
Best for: Small groups, Italian food lovers
What to order: Start with the meatballs and whipped ricotta as appetizers; everyone at the table will thank you. For more creative options, try the shrimp spaghetti or oyster mushroom pizza. Both come with portion sizes that will leave you more than satisfied.
Wheelhouse: For dinner and drinks before a night out
Best for: A laidback vibe or just-got-off-the-plane drinks
What to order: Take advantage of the gastro pub vibe and start with the Peticolas Golden Opportunity (brewed just down the road in the Design District!) and house-made sausages, accompanied with spicy beer mustard and braised cabbage. Best for: A quick snack as you’re exploring the neighborhood
What to order: This grab-and-go-spot won’t open until later this year, but expect baked goods, coffees and quick meals – perfect for when you need to head back out on your Dallas adventure.
